Who we are
Origin Care Navigator is operated by Ocean Point Care LLC dba Origin Care Navigator (“Origin,” “we,” “us”). Origin helps families in Orange County, California understand care options and, when a family asks, connects them with independent care providers. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), preferred contact method and times, and the details you share about your care situation through the Care Guide and care request forms.
- Care request details. The recommendations you ask for help with, your timeline, ZIP code or service area, and any notes you add.
- Provider information. For provider organizations: business name, service type, contact name, business email, business phone, website, service area and ZIP coverage, licensing attestations, and referral response history.
- Consent records. Whether you agreed to be contacted, whether you separately agreed to receive text messages, the date and time of that agreement, the version of the disclosure you were shown, the form you submitted it from, and the phone number you submitted.
- Technical information. Basic request data such as approximate request origin and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. Origin is intended for adults making care decisions.
How we use information for care and referrals
- To produce your Care Guide and care recommendations.
- To select and contact independent providers on your behalf when you ask us to arrange an introduction, and to share the contact details and relevant care context needed for that introduction.
- To tell you the status of your request, including provider matches and outcomes.
- To operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
- To meet legal, safety, and recordkeeping obligations.
We share your care request information with a provider only after you consent to an introduction, and only with the provider selected for that introduction.
Service providers we work with
We use a small number of vendors to run the service. They may process your information only to perform work for Origin, under contract, and not for their own purposes:
- Cloud hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure.
- Email delivery for transactional messages.
- Text message (SMS) delivery for transactional messages.
- AI model providers used to help organize and summarize the information you share.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.
Text messages and SMS consent
Text messaging is optional. You can use Origin without ever giving a phone number or agreeing to text messages. SMS consent is collected with its own separate, unchecked checkbox and is never bundled with any other agreement.
Family opt-in language shown on our care request form:
By checking this box, you agree to receive recurring transactional text messages from Origin Care Navigator about your care request, provider matches, and referral status. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of receiving services.
Provider opt-in language shown on our provider onboarding form:
By checking this box, you agree to receive recurring transactional text messages from Origin Care Navigator about referral opportunities, response reminders, and referral status updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of participating in Origin's provider network.
Reply STOP to any Origin Care Navigator text message to opt out of further messages. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
SMS consent and mobile information are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
You can review the exact opt-in checkboxes and disclosures, without submitting anything, on our text message consent page. If you do not consent, Origin suppresses text messages to you entirely and uses email or a phone call instead.
Security and retention
We protect information with access controls, row-level database security, encrypted transport, restricted internal access, and audit logging of sensitive actions. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who and what can reach your data.
We keep care request, referral, and consent records for as long as needed to run the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal and compliance obligations — including proof of messaging consent — and then delete or de-identify them. We do not retain the content of individual text messages beyond what is needed for delivery and support.
Your choices
- Decline to provide a phone number; it is optional unless you ask to be reached by phone or text.
- Leave the SMS consent box unchecked, or withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP.
- Ask us to stop contacting you, or ask us not to introduce you to any provider.
- Request a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing us at privacy@origincarenavigator.com.
California residents may exercise the rights available to them under California privacy law using the same email address. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
